Amazing foods that help you boost sex life

Having a healthy sex drive is linked to feeling physically and emotionally healthy, so it’s no surprise that the foods you eat play a role in boosting your sex life (no doubt ;)).

A nutritious diet can benefit your sex life in many ways, such as;

- Boosting libido

- Improving blood flow

- Improving heart health

- Improving your stamina

Eating a diet rich in vegetables and lean proteins — and low in foods that contain sugar and saturated fat — can also help to prevent disorders that affect your libido, like metabolic syndrome and hormonal conditions.

But what are these foods? I mentioned few of my favourites below;) and that include foods, packed with nutrients that can perk up your libido and may improve your overall health, too. Ohh yeah ;).

1. Apples

Apples are rich in a compound called quercetin. This antioxidant, a type of flavonoid, may offer a number of health benefits. And as far as sex goes, quercetin plays a major role role in promoting circulation, which is important for overall healthy sexual function (talking about blood flow to the genitals) ;). So keep that blood pressure on track (not to high)!.

In women, high blood pressure can lead to a lower libido and less interest in sex, particularly if it causes fatigue. Lower blood flow to the vagina can affect how their body responds to sexual activity.

Apples are also very rich in flavonoids, which boost your overall health and keep your sex life healthy. Beside apples, we have other fruits, rich in flavonoids;

- Strawberries

- Blueberries

- Dark - coloured grapes

- Red wine

- Cherries

-Citrus fruits

2. Nuts and seeds

Instead of sugary candy, try snacking on a handful of nuts and seeds.

Nuts, in general are full of zinc, while some nuts (like cashew and almond nuts) contain L-arginine to get your blood flowing ;).

Beside you should keep your diet on track with healthy 'nutty snacks' that include;

- Walnuts (one of my favourite and also rich in omega 3).

- Pumpkin seeds

- Sunflower seeds

- Pecans

- Hazelnuts

- Peanuts

3. Beets

Beetroots are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, making a healthful addition to any diet. They’re also high in dietary nitrates, which means they could help boost your sex life ;).

Dietary nitrates expand the blood vessels, a process known as vasodilation, which improves blood flow. This has beneficial effects on muscle contraction. Di you know that? ;) Beside, drinking beetroot juice could also help you perform better during your high-intensity exercise.

Another benefit from drinking or eating beetroot can help manage blood pressure. This is something ma grandmother though me from a young age. (She used to say, eat beats, because of its red colour, you will have better and rich blood...and I must admit, she was right, just dod not explain it to me in a way I understand it today ;)). So the bottom line is, eat and/or drink your beetroot every week (you do not need to go crazy, just keep it there once in a while ;)).

One research (from research trusted source) also suggests that the dietary nitrates from beetroot can help manage blood pressure. The researchers say this can benefit people with healthy blood pressure and those with hypertension. So I believe, these same mechanisms could, in theory, also help to improve blood flow and stamina during sex, while improving your heart health overall. What do you think? :)

Beside beets, full of nitrates are also foods like;Other foods high in nitrates include:

- Spinach

- Arugula (also known as rocket leaves salad. I eat that all the time ;))

- Cress (also known as garden cress, I grow this on my own - very easy and it's delicious in egg sandwich no nom)

- Lettuce (so many varieties you can choose from - by far the most amazing part of the meal to me as you can 'play with it' like with the colourful legos ;)).

- Celery (celery stick and hummus, what else you need? :p)

- Radish (perfect topping for any mixed salad, or just like that with some nuts and raisins)

4. Salomon

Salmon is well known for having heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. This pink-fleshed fish, as well as sardines, tuna and halibut, could play a role in keeping your body, and your sex life, healthy. Omega-3s help prevent the buildup of plaque in your arteries, which promotes healthy blood flow throughout your body. Beside keeping the circulatory system working smoothly reduces the risk of certain diseases that impair sexual function (remember this ;)).

Fish (in general) is also a great source of;

- Protein

- Vitamin B12

- Vitamin D

- Iron

- Zinc.

I eat fish more or less twice or at least once a week and I must admit I love it every time. So many varieties you can choose from.

5. Meat

Eating meats, or other foods that contain specific amino acids, could help improve your sex life.

I am not vegetarian nor vegan, so I do enjoy my meats from time to time. Not a real meat eater but will certainly enjoy a good delicious steak, who would not? ;)

Various high protein meaty foods, including beef, chicken, and pork (my least favourite, however), contain compounds that help to improve blood flow, such as:

- Carnitine

- L-arginine

- Zinc

Simply remember this when picking up on foods, as smooth blood flow is crucial to sexual response in people of all genders ;) However, keep in mind, though, that eating too much red meat can be bad for your heart (yes, sorry guys ;)). Moderation is the key to all, but you know that already, I know. Just keep all systems running smoothly in the bedroom and you will be fine ;).

6. Red wine

Like apples, red wine contains quercetin, an antioxidant that boosts blood flow.

Many studies out there found that regular, moderate intake of red wine was linked with higher sexual desire, lubrication, and overall sexual function. (is it? ;)). However, researchers noted also that drinking more than two glasses of red wine daily or indulging in other types of alcoholic beverages didn’t produce the same results - here we go. I glass is still fine! :p

So, the bottom line is, drink and/or eat variety of food, enjoy your life and make sure it is exciting ;)

Until next time, S.
