Soft and delicious, simple to make, cinnamon rolls.
'With these soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls and a scoop of vanilla ice cream you can enchant just about any guest ;)'.
For this recipe I used dry yeast for the dough and I admit, the dough was wonderful - very nicely risen, soft and elastic.
Soft Cinnamon rolls
Ingredients for the dry yeast dough
500g plain white baking flour
2 big spoons of brown sugar
1 vanilla sugar
approx. 250ml rice milk
2 yolks
100 g of butter or baking margarine
pinch of salt
Preparation process - part one (making a dough).
Use your hands to make the dough. I tried with the normal hand mixer and did not go well, so i dived in there and make it happen just like this - with hands ;).
1. In a (bigger) bowl mix flour and sugar.
2. Make little hole in the middle and pour (just about warm) rice milk.
3. On top of the milk you put dry yeast (combine a little, so the yeast starts to activate and you can see bubbles starting to rise).
4. Cover with dry cloth and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
5. Mix yolks and melted butter.
6. Add mixture to the flour mixture and add a pinch of salt.
7. Mix it well (with your hand) until you get a nice, soft dough.
8. Once the dough is ready and well mixed, cover with cloth and let it sit for another (approx.) 45 minutes until it doubles in size :).
The dough is now ready ;)
Preparation process - part two (making cinnamon rolls).
1. Roll the dough into a rectangle
2. Cut it into long strips (about 3cm thick)
3. Coat with butter, add sugar
4. Add cinnamon
5. Roll
6. Place in a silicone muffin tin
7. cover and let it sit for another 45 minutes.
8. Coat with rice milk and melted butter
9. Bake at 180°C for approx. 25 minutes or until golden brown :)
10. Ta-da, Voila - Delicious and soft cinnamon rolls are done and ready to be served. They are delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and best when served warm :)
Enjoy and let me know how it went :)
Until next time, S.
