Just living my best life

Welcome to the road towards your best life. On this path, trust me, it is totally fine to want, to dream, to wish, for life you want. You and I are powerful creators, and learning to harness that power is part of creating a life worth living. Right?

I believe many of us have visions of a better tomorrow, a future where we will exercise more or find a career that we actually love, make more money, have more free time and so on. If you are reading this it is because you want more, and you suspect you are capable of more. You have hopes and dreams and you are ready to create the life you want. Don't you agree?

1. Find purpose first

To me, pursuing our dreams means finding purpose and meaning in life. And yes it’s not always clear what that is. If life feels like a grind, trust me, that is only an indication that something is missing. The haunting feeling of wanting more is trying to tell us something important. Just stop, pause and listen to you inner self - it has something important to say to you! Part of the journey is to uncover what really interests us and makes us feel alive. And self inquiry is one of several powerful methods for discovering what we really want in our lives. (and it’s not for the faint of heart). Discovering what we want in life also means facing what we don’t want, and that process can be turbulent. Oh yes, trust I know what I am talking about. Life isn't a fairytale, more like the Ocean in all its shades of blue and grey!! But learning to live with authenticity leads to rewards that often surpass our expectations. And to me, even simple every day life can feel amazing when we are living with purpose. I've found mine for sure. And I'll cherish that forever.

2. What does it mean to live my best life?

It means to live up to my potential. Living up to my potential means doing 'all the things I hope to do someday' now instead of putting them off for some magical time in the future. Life is temporary, and I don’t want to wait to feel fulfilled. Be that person of action, not just searching for that one excuse, day by day. Life is happening now! Also, living my dream life means that as soon as I am living up to my potential, I continue to set the bar even higher. It’s not a one time quick fix. It is a commitment to myself and what really matters to me. Authentic living means I am always asking myself what is working and what is not, and acting accordingly.

3. Commit to yourself and your values

Creating the life I want requires a commitment to my personal growth. And I must be willing to change, to grow, and to do what it takes to live my best life.Yp.

Living my best life also means living a balanced life. Balance is a key part of healthy living. By managing time and energy wisely, I nurture all aspects of myself, my body, my mind, and my spirit.

4. It takes guts to live your best life

- find the strength ( every day).

Being my best self often means doing things that are difficult and challenging. And if anything, I do tend to get and push myself pout of comfort zone every day. Yes you heard me right. Every day, no matter the situation, the environment, the people I am surrounded with. Out of comfort zone is the language I speak. I know, it is much easier to sit on a sofa than to complete a daily workout. I totally get it. But, to me, breaking bad habits and creating a good ones takes 'f' guts, discipline and strength of character. And I can build strength of character by challenging myself and doing things that other people might consider difficult. I learned that I can then use that strength to make more positive changes in my life. And physical activity daily got me here!!

- start creating good 'healthy' habits

Doing things that are challenging but ultimately rewarding eventually becomes a habit! After years of taking the 'road less traveled' and pushing my boundaries, I feel stronger and more grounded than I ever have in life. I’m not easily rattled by small everyday hassles, other people’s moods, or even my own emotions. Copy this - the effect is subtle yet profound. No doubt.

- find the courage

As I explore and honour what I ultimately want for myself, I find that means breaking some old habits and making life changes (I am still working on trying to get rid of my 'ancestors brains', it's a hell of a work, but I know, eventually one, I will break through fro good). Those changes may also include walking away from people, friendships and other relationships that no longer support my growth and my goals. End.

However, friends and family may resist some of these changes. Often times the people that don’t support me are the same ones that make little effort in their own lives, so they would prefer that others remain stuck along with them. I know again, that it takes courage and strength of character to not care what other people think, and to create the life I want even if others are judging my actions. And listen to me, people judge me, evenjhough they do not know me anyways. But who the 'f' cares. I’ve done some bold things over the last few years to create a life that feels amazing. Yes, trust me. And I am stronger and a better person for it. Hell yes!

- above all, respect yourself

Living your best life begins with appreciating the fact that you are alive. Realizing that life is a gift and every single day is a blessing is the foundation on which I build the life I desire. Appreciating life means respecting myself and my body. To me, my body is my vehicle for this journey. When I give it the fuel and maintenance that it needs, it will perform at its best and take me everywhere I want to go. Making the right food and lifestyle choices and creating healthy habits are part of living my dream life. Beside all, I want to have lots of energy every day to enjoy life and achieve my goals.

At the end of the day, choosing actions that nurture self-respect also builds my confidence.

And my confidence is vital to achieving my goals.

I am a firm believer everyone has the power to make positive changes in their life. And the first step towards it, is just thinking about it, which you’ve already done if you’ve read this far.

And remember, healthy body means healthy mind.

And that's all that matter. That's all you need.

Until next time, S.
