Stop making excuses

Do you want to feel better in your own body? Then start doing something.

Excuses and judging will not bring results. And if something, I know it takes guts to do it.

Finding confidence is not easy as you think. It's a hard work and takes a lot of your energy. But, you can do it. With the right mindset and consistency. Yes!!

And if you're feeling less than great about your body in your 40s, you're not alone, but it's all your fault, ok? Stop pity yourself - that doesn't mean those doubts and supposed flaws (and excuses) have to plague you forever. Instead, take measures to start feeling good today. And If I can do it, you too can!!

But first;

1. Be your own best friend

If you find that you constantly criticize yourself, ask yourself if you would say things like that to your best friend. Make treating yourself with the same compassion and care that you would extend to the people closest to you your personal baseline, and you'll be amazed at how much better you feel about yourself. And if you can't pull yourself out of a rut, start 'f' exercise daily and sort out your head!!

2. Start strength training, daily if you need to

The benefits of exercise go beyond losing weight or getting that six pack. Do you hear me? After 40, your body starts to lose bone density and weight-bearing exercise is a great way to prevent that. In addition, exercise improves your mood, and it's a great way to shift your focus from how your body looks, to all the stuff it can do, like hold a yoga pose or ride a bike for 20 miles. Just start to exercise and get rid of that lazy mindset!! Do it. It's not going to be easy but once you're in it, you will make a habit. Then the habit will become your daily routine. And you will feel better, boost your energy levels, increase your confidence, etc. The list goes on!!

3. Be your own 'Chef'

Start preparing food yourself. Not processed food. I mean real food - healthy food. Treat your body like you care about it by giving it exercise and eating foods that make it feel good. This isn't to say you should go on a super-restrictive diet that makes you equally full of kale and misery. It's about showing appreciation for what you have by taking care of it with nutritious foods that give you energy, taste good, and don't make you hate yourself afterward. Not sure where to start? Just follow my blog and my daily stories - if this does not motivate you enough, then nothing will until you sort out your mindset!!

4. Do not compare yourself to others

Comparing yourself to others is a surefire way to make yourself feel bad. If it helps, remember that there are people out there comparing themselves to you and feeling bad about it. But it's best to stop thinking that way entirely. One of the main culprits fuelling that kind of comparison is social media - choose wisely what and who you follow!!! Get rid of junk out of your life.

5. Treat yourself

Give yourself some much deserved appreciation by treating yourself to mani-pedis and a skincare routine that you really enjoy. Every time you look at your hands, you'll be reminded of how much you care about yourself and start building more confidence. It's no coincidence that enjoyable grooming habits are one of the best dating tips too ;).

6. Avoid toxic people

Heard that 10.000 times already, I know! If you have 'friends' who put you down or make you feel bad about yourself regularly, give them the boot. Likewise, if you have friends who are constantly talking about how much they dislike their bodies or how fat they are, either change the subject or talk to someone else. Just run away as fast as you can from people loaded with negative energy , low self-esteem and no confidence what so ever!! Cutting toxic people out of my life is sure one of the best things that happened to me, you should try it. No doubt, the greatness you feel...just wow!

7. Take care of yourself

In all dimensions of life. Dress well, be happy and enjoy every moment. Ffs, life is too short for boring shit. Be your own kind of beautiful. Advise? Don't dress for your 'f' age. Dress for you. By now you've probably developed your own personal style, so find clothes that make you feel like yourself and feel like you look good. You'll get a reminder every time you look in the mirror of how great you really are. You are awesome, that's all you have to remember.

Now forget about the world around you and start doing things for yourself. The rest does not matter.

Exercise daily and be happy.

The rest will follow. We all have ups and downs. I call it life.

But if something I know for sure - exercise- is the best remedy (for all that's going on in your life).

You are not alone for sure but you will become alone if your body will shut down.

Think?!

Until next time, S.
