To me, best exercise for women after 40 is glute workout

Who would have thought that the best exercise for women over 40 would be so booty-full? Yes no doubt ;). And if there is one type of exercise above all that (trust me) will deliver the absolute best improvements for women over 40, then this is a glute training!!


Why? If you ask me - there are several good reasons why ;) And if you are already after 40 like me, then you too should prioritise glute training, yes - even over cardio machines. And I am not arguing over that, period. ;). Now, let's have a look at the main reasons;


1. Strong glutes burn fat

Stronger glutes burn the most energy of any muscle group and will keep burning post workout. (aka fat burning), copy that!


2. Save you knees

Strong glutes protect your knees. Glutes stabilise hips and protect knees and ankles by keeping them all aligned (for further optimise that, I use elastic band too ;)).


3. Avoid lower back pain

Strong glutes protect your lower back. Yes - remember that! This alone is worth it based on the number of back issues reported in women over 40. Stronger glutes therefore allow for more effective hip movement and thus less strain on the low back.


4. Effective use of energy

As the largest muscle in the body, glutes use up the most energy at rest and post workout. This is awesome no? ;)

5. Be gentle to your hamstrings

Stronger glutes take the pressure off hamstrings. Therefore working on strong glutes will keep hamstrings from straining. No pain - more booty gain!! :)


6. Balance your strength

Strong glutes will prevent thighs from 'overworking'. Remember, if the glutes are weak, squats will be thigh dominant and will therefore lead to tighter glutes too (which is not ok!!). Prioritise glute training to balance strength above all!!


7.Improve your running skills

Runners with strong glutes reduce their risk for injury from quad dominance ;) It's as simple as that.


8. Sexy butt is hot (age does not matter) .

In my opinion stronger glutes are more aesthetically pleasing than pancake butts, right? And if you still think that, at the age of 40+ can not have it anymore, then please stop fooling yourself.

If you are serious about changing your physique and minimising the ailments listed above, then make glute training your number one exercise priority.


And remember - you can still have sexy round donuts there as long as you are consistent with your daily exercise. Beside there are so many other reasons why do it! Come on, you got this!
